Device Website Access

This age group has the most limited access available on any MPS device. This includes for iPads in classrooms, desktops during computer lessons, and Chromebooks/laptops.

As students enter junior high the expectations of them grow in their coursework. They have greater responsibility for their devices and their learning, often using web-based research as a learning tool. As the subject matter broadens, their need for access incrementally increases.

MPS high school students have a higher level of internet access due to the nature of their studies and often the research required for projects and coursework. They have an even greater responsibility to maintain their devices and for the content they choose to search. As the class subject matter broadens, their need for access incrementally increases.

Parents will be automatically enrolled into our Lightspeed Parent Portal to control students web access after school. If an MPS parent or guardian wishes to restrict access for their student more than what we have described on a district-provided devices, please contact your school administrator to discuss putting your student into a more restricted group.
